Its been a long time since we actually planned and started working on it,but many things came in between like Exams,Hackerdom(Our Dept Program) & many other things
So what is Multitouch?
Everyone should be familiar with the term touchscreen,well it offers a single touch point,now in Multitouch the surface offers more than one touch point,or more clearly it offers more than one cursor...
So we bought an Acrylic glass(which is little modified) for the surface,made some 20 holes on 2 opposite sides where we put IR LED's.Now,when we touch the surface the IR light inside the surface gets scattered by a phenomenon called Frustrated Internal Reflection(FIR).
Now these points are captured using a modified Webcam which detects only IR light,which appears as White Blobs on the webcam output,& Bingo!, we got our Cursors.the entire thing is projected onto our screen.
The blobs are fed to our program code,which is obviously in Python.
The library used is pythonmt........
